Lodging or ideas from Jackson Hole to Estes Park

I'm needing a few ideas (hotels/sites/towns or cities) between Jackson Hole and Estes Park. From what I understand it'll be a 8-10 hour drive between the two places, but there doesn't seem to be much between them - other than beautiful scenery that is. Does anyone have ideas to break up the trip and possible lodging accomodations? Thanks in advance!

I remember doing this drive years ago. We did it in a day. I do remember being disappointed though by the scenery. It was miles and miles of ranch country---and not much else that I can remember.

Try Route 287 through Dubois, then to Riverton, Lander and Rawlings. Museums in Riverton and Lander.
The take Route 130 to Laramie via Saratoga, Saratoga Hot Springs and the Snowy Range Lass. From Laramie rejoin 287 to Loveland and thence to Estes Park on 34.
But, as LindainOhio said, be ready for lots of open rangeland between Dubois and the time you start climping to Saratoga.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I'll be traveling with a 2 year old alone, so I'll have movies on standby in case she gets too bored. Safe travels!

I did this drive 7 years ago and don't recall any beautiful scenery. It was much as LindainOhio described. We left Colorado later in the day, stayed the night in Rawlins (there is nothing there) and continued onto Grand Teton National Park. Now there is where we saw beautiful scenery.
