Lodging near I90 thru NY state.

We will be traveling from Mi to Ma, a frequent trip to visit family. Pup will stay home this time, so no need for dog friendly lodging. We usually end up staying around Weedsport, the 8 hour point. Any suggestions on places to see/stay? We are in no hurry.

The best thing you could do if you are in no hurry is to exit I90 at exit 44 and head south to Route 20E across the top of the Finger Lakes... It runs through villages, farms, antique shops, markets and roadside eateries...

For lodging, you will pass through Geneva, Seneca Falls, Auburn and Skaneatekes... all beautiful Finger Lakes Towns with great lodging options and then head back north to rejoin the I90 for the rest of your trip...

research www.fingerlakes.com or just google Finger Lakes...

I second what garyt22 said. Skaneateles is especially beautiful. Although I have never stayed there (I live somewhat close by), I like to go to the Ramada Inn in Geneva to dine outside by the lake: http://www.genevaramada.com/. Seneca Falls is nice if you are an "It's a Wonderful Life" fan or have an interest in women's rights history.

Thanks so much for the info. We've been back and forth many times on 90, and never realized how close we were to the Finger Lakes town..you know that hell-bent on getting there disease! This time we dropped down on 20on the way back, loved the scenery, called the Ramada and they were booked. Luckily we were able to get a room at the Inn on the Lake! How very special! Thanks again!
