Our son is going to school in East Haddam this fall. When we visited the school this summer we stayed in a wonderful B&B in East Haddam, Bishopsgate Inn. However, when we take the other kids up to visit for long weekends I would like to find something more reasonably priced. Any suggestions?

You can try Comfort Inn in Old Saybrook or Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell
I've been out-of-town - just got back and checked my post. Thanks for the suggestions. About how long a drive is it to East Haddam from Old Saybrook or Cromwell?
About 25 min. from Cromwell and 20 min. from Old Saybrook
