Lexington locals. Meeting place Lexington

I will be meeting some Knoxville friends in Lexington for a meal. They will be bringing a toddler. Since neither of us live there ,can someone please tell me a good place to meet with VERY easy highway access. I want to make it easy for all of us. At first I was thinking of a picnic in a park but if it is too hot, maybe a restaurant is better. Any ideas?

There's a Cracker Barrel at the Newtown Pike exit off I-64.

There may be better parks for your needs, but I know Masterson Station Park has a nice playground and picnic area. The down side is that it isn't right off either interstate, and is on the other side of town from Knoxville - wouldn't add a ton of time, but there may be somewhere more convenient.

I grew up in Knoxville and my brother and his family lived in Lex for five years in the Masterson Station area, but I'm not familiar with much outside of their area, downtown a bit and the mall area.

We met at Jacobsen Park which worked really well for us. The amazing playground and all the water possibilities allowed us to have a really nice day. Only drawback is that there aren't many picnic tables.. and almost none in the shade except under the shelters that of course, on the weekend were rented. There were plenty of shade trees. Easy of the highway. Will use this place again I am sure. An ice cream truck came through at the opportune moment in the afternoon.
