Less expensive car rental one winter month Tucson
We will be in Tucson for a month beginning mid February and will need a car, so I am seeking suggestions on minimizing cost without renting a junker.
We do not need to pick up at the airport.

We rent cars long term on the east coast but these may help you. We recently rented a car for a month in New England through www.carrentals.com. It ended up being with Dollar and was much cheaper than we usually have spent for a shorter time period. Also, sometimes we call a local car dealer as they have had long term rentals available.
In Tucson, car dealers to check would be the big ones..Jim Click and Holmes-Tuttle. Google Tucson car dealers to find a list of the many dealers who only deal in one brand of car.

I rented a car in February in Tucson. I got it at the Sears Auto place (east end of a mall).
When I returned it, I went across the street for a bus back to within 2 blocks of the Amtrak station.

Oops, I replied on socialworkers thread elsewhere. Check it out if you think $560 is a good price. You can book the "Pay later" price now to lock something in, then closer to February switch to the lower "pay in advance" rate.
