Lei Greeting?

Any recommendations on companies that provide lei greetings at the Honolulu airport? How much are they? What are they like (too cheesy maybe?).

I'd like to surprise my travel companion with one. We'll arrive at 10pm on a Wednesday, so maybe it's too late in the evening for one.

Thanks!!

They start at $20 & go up... you can order packages with champagne & stuff too.

They're great & they keep your room smelling nice the entire time you're there.

You mean you don't automatically get lei'd when you step onto the tarmac in Honolulu as on the Brady Bunch? What a rip off - I'm calling that darned travel agent today.

Our recent trip to Hawaii came with a lei greeting and we envisioned a lovely hula girl or well tanned guy placing it around our necks and welcoming us to Hawaii.

What we got was a little troll in street clothes standing next to a box of leis, silently handing them out like she was handing out flyers on the street. It was downhill from there.

Lei greetings are rip offs (if you have to pay even a dollar for them).
If they're included in a package, you still overpaid.
The only meaningful lei greeting IMO is one from someone you know, who is genuinely welcoming you to the islands.
The others are like paying $20 for a shoeshine.

I'd suggest you buy a beautiful lei from one of the lei stands in the airport and give it to your travel companion with a kiss and an aloha.

I also love to buy leis for my travel companions when we are leaving the islands so they can take a little piece of aloha home with them. They keep well in the refrigerator for a week or two.

I ordered a lei greeting from Leis of Hawaii and they had very personal service. They were even excited that it was a surprise for my husband. They encouraged me to include a note that would be given to him by the greeter. We each received a different kind of lei. They are more expensive than other companies though. I think if you make personal arrangements rather than those that come through a tour or package you get more personal service. Also try http://www.alohafriends.com/leigreeting_services.html
