LAX - Easiest to get to attraction?

I am booked at a hotel 1 mile from LAX on business, and I think I will have my last day completely free, before I fly out late in the night.
Can someone suggest an attraction that is easy to get to with public transportation? I am interested in the theme parks, city tour mainly, but welcome any other suggestions as well. Thank You.

You could also try MTA.net for public transportation options. Just know that getting anywhere in LA on public transportation can make for a long & harrowing day. I would not recommend it if you have a plane to catch at night.

You could try viptoursandcharters.com. They have city tours as well theme park and other attraction packages. They pick up at most LAX area hotels. They were recommended by another poster on this board.

City Tours probably pick up at your hotel or a hotel nearby.

You can get to the Getty by bus, bus # 561 I believe, but it takes over an hour.

The Getty is a good idea. If pg has the whole day, there would be plenty of time for a tour. I don't think I would try getting around on public transportation although the bus to The Getty might work. You can get a shuttle from LAX to Santa Monica for around $20. You could also think about renting a car just for the day. You would have plenty of time to check out Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, or the beach areas such as Venice Beach, Manhattan and Hermosa Beaches.

If the idea of spending time at Manhattan/Hermosa Beaches appeals, there is shuttle bus service from the hotels on Century Blvd. Ask your hotel whether it is on the shuttle line. The shuttle makes many stops, including the Manhattan Beach pier and shopping mall.
