Late August Breckenridge Lodging?

One other thing...what's the best way to get the lowest price for these places? Is it better to book online, by phone? Are there coupons available somewhere? Are the big travel sites (Travelocity, Orbitz) better or would sites specific to Breckenridge be a better bet?

If you want a condo, you could try vrbo or similar sites. You can often bargain with the owners. Have stayed at the Marriott you mentioned and it is lovely and conveniently located although I believe it might be a bit above the price you want. We had a 1 bdrm/2 bth unit, non smoking with full kitchen and parking garage under. Can't remember but think pkng might be additional cost.

Thanks for the helpful info, irishswampyankee. I was not familiar with vrbo and have now done quite a bit of research there. Plan to contact a few owners in the next week or so to see if they have any lat Summer specials or are willing to bargain. Right now, Main St. Station looks like a winner if I can negotiate a good price.

I can always use the Marriott as a back-up. They have a studio qn w/ balcony for our dates running $139.

Park Avenue Lofts is just about across the street from the Riverwalk area so good location. River Mtn Lodge is half a block away from the Riverwalk but it is an older building so inquire carefully about how upgraded the unit will be. I have been in 2 of them and one had a nicely remodeled kitchen but the furniture was basic and old.

Main Street Station is the newest of all and very well furnished and upgraded. It is located close to some shops and restaurants and a farmers market takes place on Sundays right there in the plaza area. It is on the corner of Park and Main St a few blocks south of the Riverwalk plaza area but closer than the Corral. I have heard reports that some of the rooms that face Rt 9 are noisy due to bars open late across the street. The Marriott is a great location for winter time visits if you are a skier, but it is in the same general area as the Corral and a bit removed. The nearby Village Plaza is under going an entire facelift and there may be construction noise at both the Marriott and Main Street Station so ask about that.

Main Street Station is the way to go. It sounds like the perfect fit for you. As long as you stay for a least 3 nights we are in your price range. Check out this link. Thanks, John.

We stayed at the Valdoro-we had a two bedroom, two bath and it was very nice and we could walk to town and they also had a shuttle you could take if you don't won't to walk.

For a quiet stay I would reccommend staying at these properties: Lodge at Highlands, Ski Hill Condo, Asgard Haus, Columbine (somewhere close enough to enjoy Breckenridge, but perhaps not right in the middle of town). There is major construction going on in the Village area so I'd just be careful not to stay near that area to avoid construction noise.

Ok, for those who don't have a vested interest, but do have Breckenridge experience, I'm down to these options:

Park Avenue Lofts
Pine Ridge Condos
Main St Station

Considering my initial post on this topic with our lodging requirements, what order would you rate these three places? BTW, I know less about Pine Ridge Condos than the other two.

I have not been inside a Pine Ridge Condo. Look very nice from exterior and they are only 1 block up from the intersection of Four O'Clock Rd and Park Ave. The east side of this intersection is the parking lot of the Riverwalk Center, so that puts you close to the center of town. You might also check reviews on Trip Advisor for any of your choices.

I would certainly look at Pine Ridge - they usually have great specials and EXCELLENT trip advisor reviews. The condos are individually owned but they have ratings (silver, gold, platinum) so if you want something super nice you can get for a little extra. I usually go in the winter but it's very convenient to Main St. Hope this helps!
