last minute website recommendations

Have never used any of the obvious choices, but we now have a week coming up & no plans. I know this question has been asked before, but doesn't seem to have been revisited lately. Please tell me, which last minute sites have people had good experiences with? Thank you!

I don't have first hand experience, but American Express has this:
http://americanexpress-travel.lmdeals.com/

and the former site59 is now www.lastminute.com

Once you find something you like; check out the individual components [hotels etc] on here or tripadvisor.com

hotwire has a last minute section

also some airlines have "this weekend, next weekend" specials sections

right now travel commentators are saying Las Vegas is a bargain...all sorts of deals.

Depending upon where you are Air Tran is having an airfare war: mostly on the East Coast..

Thank you all. Has anyone taken a trip with lastminute.com? They have some great deals. We're thinking of going to San Francisco.

Great - that's enough to convince me! We're going with lastminute.com. Thanks to all.

If you plan on booking direct then also checkout www.smartervegas.com and www.fatwallet.com they both have deals for booking direct from the official hotel websites.
