Las Vegas Wedding
My fiance and I are planning to get married in Vegas this Sept or Oct. Would like to get feedback from anyone who has either had a wedding there themselves or has gone to a wedding there recently. We are going to Vegas this weekend to check out places, but would love to hear about other's experiences. We'd prefer to get married outside, but probably stay close, if not on the strip. Probably going to be anywhere from 50 to 70 people. If there was a certain hotel, restaurant, or reception idea you thought was cool or you had fun at, please let me know!!! Thanks in advance for any input.

My friend got married there and loved it. Here's some information, although some of the links are not updated--she got pregnant after they created the site and has been busy with that!

Friends were married at the Monte Carlo, and it was nice. The wedding chapel & banquet rooms were on a higher floor, though, not outside. "Elvis" showed up in the banquet room next door, and someone dragged him in to take pictures.
Check out the locations of the wedding chapels in the larger hotel/casinos. Too many chapels are in very busy common areas, where tourists are gaping at your wedding like you were Zigfried and Roy's white tigers.
At one of the hotels where we stayed (Mandalay Bay or Mirage, don't remember which) the chapels are near the exit to the pool. We saw bridal parties waiting in the hallways where wet little kids in swimsuits were running around. One dripping wet kid walked right over the train of a bride. Another, with a drippy ice cream cone, came very close to smashing in to another nicely-dressed member of the bridal party.

Not recently, have been married for 23 yrs, but we got married at the Little Church of the West: http://www.littlechurchlv.com/?sec=home Got married there a few yrs after some friends were married there. At that time it was located on the grounds of the Hacienda Hotel. Now it is across from Mandalay. We chose that because we liked the looks of the chapel inside & out, it is a separate structure from the hotels & we had about 40 people going & the all fit nicely into the chapel. It was very easy to set up the date, package, etc with the people at the chapel. The day we got married, it snowed. Although that is common here in the midwest, especially that time of the year, but it was uncommon for that day, 2/2/85 at 2pm, in Vegas, so made that day even abit more special. At the time, the chapel was associated with the Haceinda Hotel & we were able to get a large suite at a very reduced rate. No matter which chapel you get married at, ask about getting a reduced rate for a suite. We were able to have a little reception back in our suite for all the people. We even brought a small wedding cake with us.
