las vegas: dining with children

My wife and I and our children (7 & 5) are going to Las Vegas over Christmas. We like to dine at a nice restaurant (Emeril's) but I understand they don't have a child's menu. Would they accomodate the kids sharing an entree?

Otherwise, any recommendations for a good restaurant that will work for kids?

Kit, I'd call the restaurant directly if I were you. You will get an idea of whether or not they welcome kids by their reaction to your question. If it doesn't sound positive you should find another spot that's more accomodating.

I have never seen children in Emerils at night.Nor have I seen them in any of the good restarants in the other hotels.Best thing is to call, children are tolerated but often not really welcome.Especially very young ones.

I do not think that Emerils or other Las Vegas restaurants accomodate sharing of entrees by adults OR children.Sorry, you might have to take the kids to a Dennys or something.

Thanks for letting us know your plans. I'll be avoiding that restaurant on Christmas Day. I think I'll call Emeril's and let them know why I won't be coming.

Not to rain on your parade but if you think going to Emeril's in LV is ANYTHING like going to Emeril's in New Orleans, BEWARE, we were sadly disappointed, and were quick to learn that the LV version of our favorite restaurants were in name only.JMHO

WHAT'S THIS?
Emeril's in Las Vegas wasn't as good as the original?
Next thing you'll be trying to tell me is that the Eiffel Tower and Empire State building are just shadows of the originals as well.
Say it ain't so!!

The Rain Forest Cafe at the MGM or the Hard Rock Cafe would appeal to kids. Also be sure to take them to M&M World which is near the MGM. They might also enjoy a slice of pizza at NYNY. Or the World Buffet at the Rio would be a suitable place for kids.
Another option which the kids might enjoy is eating at the Mexican restaurant at the Venetian where you can sit and watch the gondolas go by.
