Las Vegas Clubs - Need all the 411...

Ok - please help me understand this. When you go to Vegas and want to go to a club - you have to sit outside and wait in really long lines and "hope" to get in? I have seen a lot of "VIP" passes being talked about, but don't want to get scammed as well. Can someone please tell me what is the best way to get into a club that you like? Are there any tips or tricks I should know about?

Has anyone used any services for club hopping? What was your experience and who would you recommend? Is it worth the price? What about cover charges - how do you find out what they are in advance?

Which is your favorite club and why? Which would you avoid?

(This is for my 21 year old daughter and her 21 year old best friend and dear old dad and mom will be going along for the ride.)

Any advice is much appreciated!

Many clubs allow you to purchase a 'jump to the front of the line' VIP pass. Most go for $25-$50, a piece. If you happening to be going to a club in your hotel, I always check w/the players club person or concierge & sometimes they can get you some freebies. The girls will have an easier time getting in, than guys. It is not uncommon for the door people to snatch young, attractive females out of line & usher them in. But there are no guarantees. Many don't charge a cover until later, so if they have a chance, see if they can get in & check things out before hand. Club hopping in Vegas, is not for the faint of heart, nor persons w/out a wad of $$. Suffice it to say, I think it is $$ thrown out the window, but then I'm not even close to 21. For kids their age the Hard Rock & Palms (the Palms is like an-MTV hotel) check hree - http://www.bestofvegas.com/Night-Clubs/

SanParis has given some very good & realistic advice. Club hopping can be difficult, especially on weekends, due to the lines and cost. Each of the Major Casinos has at least one dance club and getting into one or two a night can be done for those who are patient. Though not chic, tell them to get in line before the club opens.

Since we are staying at TI - I know that we get in without charge there. They are really beautiful girls - I'm sure they will be let in and dad and mom will be outside holding up a wall!

Belive me - so NOT my thing... I prefer a pub or a small little place to sit in a nice bar where you can actually have a conversation - but it will be DD's 21st birthday night and I'm sure they will want to do one club that night - so thanks for the information!

A coworker of mine, a 30-somthing woman, swears by the napkinnights site -- you can sign up for a club's VIP list (just print out the "confirmation" and bring it with you). It should allow you to jump the line and I believe it's free.

Other ideas she has used are:
1) Tao (Ventian) -- eat dinner there and then hit up the club side before it starts getting too busy
2) Pure (Caesars) -- going in to see the Pussycat Dolls show should get you into the club afterwards.

In my experience, part of getting into a club is looking the part. Women should definitely be in something on the s*xier side (i.e., a dress that shows a bit of skin and/or cleavage -- sorry if that creeps you out about your daughter! LOL) and men must wear a collared dress shirt and either nice slacks or high premium dark wash jeans (Seven, Tru Religion, Rock and Republic, etc.). No sneakers or athletic footwear, naturally. Expect to shell out some $$, but it's your daughter's 21st birthday, so enjoy it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Can't imagine why mom and dad are trying to go along. the chances o four getting into anyplace trendy are nil (sorry - but I have step-daughters in that age group - both very attractive and know NYC - and are able to get in a lot of places - but parent types never).

Plus, if you got in what would you do? Is this your type of dance music??? And drinks are a fortune - even if you want to drink that much.

The girls should go alone - if they're really attractive and trendily dressed they have a much better chance of getting into hot places.
