LAS VEGAS: Best Restaurant?
My husband and I are spending our anniversary in Las Vegas. We've been before, and we've had some good meals and some not so good meals. I'd LOVE some opinions on the "BEST" places to eat in Vegas. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi. My husband and I are also spending our anniversary in Las Vegas in June. We've never been there, but I have found so many websites on Las Vegas. Here are some of the restaurants that people seem to like. The Rio Buffet is been noted as the number one. Westward Ho is supposed to be good for Ribs. Excalibur Steakhouse is good with music and dancing while you eat. For Mexican, they say that Gardunas as the Fiesta Casino is good. Sorry, I can't offer advice from a been-there-done-that view but these should at least help. When is your anniversary? Write us if you would like to and tell us how it went and then you can give us advice. Thanks, Doug and Kathy

For best buffet the vote in this forum (after I went through 3 months worth of postings) was the Rio. We went there in December and the line was an hour wait so we went upstairs and ate at the Mexican restaurant and it was fabulous!!. Very good food, excellent service, great drinks, great entertainment and ambiance!! Nix the MGM grand buffet and mexican restaurant! Not 1/2 as good!!

There are several excellent restaurants in Las Vegas. Hotel Gourmet rooms that we have found to be the best are: Emeril's at the MGM (I live in New Orleans where his origional restaurant is located)- seafood, Kokomo's at the Mirage-seafood, Isis at the Luxor- Continental, Fiore at the Rio-French, these are all wonderful with excellent service and a quiet atmosphere.

I've been going there for years. If you like Chinese food even a little bit then you should try Chin's. It used to be in a small strip mall, but is now in one of the nicest malls in Las Vegas. It is what I would call gourmet chinese, but not wierd gourmet... just plain wonderful... their specialty is strawberry chicken. It sounds strange, but is absolutely spectacular. If your wallet can handle it, just tell the manager that you want a great meal and to treat you to a spectacular meal... they will give you nothing less. Enjoy!

fiore at the rio is excellent and they have a wonderful wine list. mortoni's in the hard rock is very good. the buccaneer bay club in treasure island has very good food and you can view the ship battle from the windows. the rio breakfast buffet is huge - go during the week - the weekends are horribly crowded. the monte carlo has a brew pub for casual dining...when my husband and I went, there was a wedding reception going on! spago at the forum shops is also very good - go in the late afternoon to miss the lunch crowd - they have a good wine list also.
