Las Vegas Airport & Hotel Question

We are arriving in LV around 8 p.m. on a Sunday night. We need to stay one night before heading out in the a.m. For Zion NP. I have us booked at the Doubletree figuring we would use the airport shuttle to the hotel that evening and back to the aiport in the a.m. to pick up the rental car.

I just found a rate a bit cheaper at the Hilton in LV and some mention of a car rental desk at that property. This sounds like it might simplify things (just leaving directly from the hotel in the a.m.) but not knowing LV, I may be wrong. Does anyyone have any info on the pros and cons of either scenario.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The strip is about a two minute cab ride from the airport. Stay on the strip and have some fun!

We are returning to LV for 3 nights on the back end of our trip and plan on having fun on the strip. This question refers to the approximately 12 hours that we will spend getting through the aiport to a bed for a nights sleep before heading out in a rented car at 9 a.m. the following morning.

I'm curious about the convenience of the hilton rental desk as opposed to the airport shuttle back and forth from the Doubletree to McCarran.

Any advice??

My advice is before you pursue this any further, find out what car rental agency is at the Hilton, call them, and find out their rate. Since they have a captive audience there for car rental, they may not be as competitive as renting from an airport location. Compare the rates, and if the cost is more, consider if it is worth the added convenience. The difference in price would play somewhat of a factor in my decision, and i wouldn't be able to make a fair decision without knowing that info.

Good thinking--I just did this and found it costs$60 more to rent at the Hilton which in no way makes it worth saving $15 on the room.
