Well, some 5 years ago I walk into a seedy motel not far from CC and ask about rates, was told $89/5nights... shocked! But, heck motel is gone, as is Sahara and Riviera, so that area is dead.
But, I did get Luxor 5 nights round trip air for just $620! If that aint a steal I might as well go Downtown for $480 in some run down hotel. Or try off strip hotels or Henderson.

We are not high rollers, so we don't get our room comped. But we do sign up for email from our favorite hotel, Aria. I suspect all the other hotels do the same. Because we have played their slots we are M Life members and they send us offers. I wait until I get an offer to book. Most recently, we got an offer for $79 a night, a $50 hotel credit and two free tickets to Zarkana (Cirque du Soleil). Those free seats ended up being in the fourth row, a $225 per ticket value on Ticketmaster. We took them up on the offer for three nights. There were taxes and a $25 per night resort fee, but it was still a great deal, especially because I was able to fly using miles.

As stated you have to have play time to be comped and trust me those rooms aren't "free". LOL I live in Reno and my SO has tons of comps at the Peppermill and believe me, he has paid for all those. He wins from time to time, 12 grand on a parlay card during football season a couple years ago, a couple of grand here and there, mostly on football, but counting the years, yes he's paid. We DO get a special parking place in the parking garage.
So, if you want to go, look for a package deal you find affordable.
