Lake Tahoe & Yosemite Lodging/hotels
I would like to visit Lake Tahoe & Yosemite park. I would appreciate any info on lodging/hotel/private rentals near or at the parks. As to Yosemite park, it seems that there are no available reservations at the Yosemite Lodge. The dates of my stay as follows: Lake Tahoe 7/11/15-7/14/15; Yosemite 7/14/15-7/17/15. I did read posts on this forum, and a lot of people refer to "staying at the valley", however no name of the hotel(s). It's my first time visiting the park. Thanks for your help

"In the valley" encompasses all the park lodging in the valley floor of Yosemite NP, both hotels, tent cabins, and campsites. Staying outside the park can mean an hour's drive just to get into the valley. In July, you could be creeping along with a lot of traffic.
People reserve a year in advance, and all lodging really fill up in the summer. At this late stage, about all you do is call every day and try for cancellations (when people book far ahead, it's very possible they end up needing to cancel). Here is a link for you: http://www.yosemitepark.com/lodging.aspx
Lake Tahoe is not a park, but it is still high season when you plan to go. What is your price range? I think south Lake Tahoe/Stateline would have the most accommodations, but I haven't been there in the summer for years.

If you can't get into Yosemite Valley . . . Yosemite Lodge, the (very) expensive Ahwahnee, or in Curry Village (either motel type rooms or tent cabins) . . . then book a Yosemite View Lodge which is just outside the park in El Portal. It is the closest accommodations to the Valley.
As for Lake Tahoe -- what is your budget and do you know which part of the lake you want to stay?

was posting the same time a sudlick . . El Portal is not an hour from the Valley which is why it is the only really viable option (other than some cabins/condos in Yosemite West. Yosemite View Lodge to Yosemite Village (in the middle of the Valley take about 30 mins and just to the Valley -- less than 15 mins.

If you do end up staying outside the park and don't want to drive and park you can use the YARTS bus service.

As janisj says, ElPortal is your best option outside the park.
