Lake George with toddlers

Just starting our planning for a trip to Lake George. Our boys will be 1.5 and 3 when we go in Mid-September. I know some of the attractions will have already closed down for the season, but that's okay. We like avoiding crowds :)

The boys love to be outside and we enjoy hiking as a family. Any easy to moderate recommendation? We'll carry the 1.5 year old, but the 3 year old will be pushing 50lbs by then so he's walking :)

I'm assuming there are some wineries around, but I still need to research that.

Other than hiking and swimming, what would you recommend? And any restaurant/lodging advice would be appreciated. Nothing fancy, just clean and kid-appropriate.
