Ladies, can anyone recommend a great stylist in Orlando?

I moved to central Florida 6 months ago and am struggling to find a real stylist. I live on the coast but am willing to drive to Orlando, the closest city of any size.

I am a city girl and am looking for a sophisticated, edgy cut. Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Wait a sec, are you in central FL or on the coast? I assume you mean the east coast. If not, I have several suggestions for you in Tampa; but if you're on the east coast, that would be quite a haul! I hope others can help out with Orlando ideas. Good luck!

Oh, that's a bummer, sorry! What I've done several times when I was new to an area is look for a salon in an upscale neighborhood, on the Internet and in person, on the theory that it might be more cutting edge; sometimes this strategy has worked, sometimes not. In the absence of recommendations, I'd look for a salon in Winter Park... or perhaps there's an Aveda academy in Orlando, like there is in St. Pete?

Can't help with hair stylist. Just want to let you know I love your city. We spent some nights at the Doubletree last summer and fell in love with the area.

Yes, it is beautiful here. We like the area very much and have some very good locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars, etc. All I am missing is a stylist!

Try a Bumble and Bumble salon, if possible. Stylists are usualy experienced and take continuing education at the headquarters in NYC.

I would see if Orlando has a salon in any of their upscale department stores and go from there. Check Saks and Neiman Marcus.

Otherwise look at the spas in the upscale hotels.

kfusto, I feel your pain! After 7 years in Melbourne, my stylist moved to Atlanta last year #39;(

Edgy, as you know, is hard to find here - have you tried Michelle Morice on Wickham Rd?

321go, what is the name of the salon where she works?

I am thinking I might just have to drive to Tampa once a month!

I wasn't very clear in my reply - Michelle is the owner of the salon which she named after herself! My former stylist used to work with her before she opened her salon. It's on Wickham Road near Sarno, if I recall correctly. Good luck!
