L.A. snow and ice
I was going to whine in the Canda forum about the lousy weather in toronto today, but then tv news showed me Los Angeles.
At least here we have the coats and boots and scarves for terrible winter weather.
Best wishes to LA members of the forum; I hope you were able to have some fun in the rain and hail and snow and ice, and could treat it as an adventure rather than a hardship.

The funny thing is that we live about 15 miles from the area involved and all we had was lightning. We looked at the news and just marveled. It could have been Canada. Hope those involved see your message & good wishes.

I live in Long Beach, 10 miles or so south of the worst-hit areas (Compton and Watts), and we just got a fair downpour. Maybe 3/4 of an inch...? Never saw hail. The lightning was pretty spectacular, I must say. But thanks for the wishes-- we just don't know how to react when we have actual Weather!!

Our first winter in San Jose brought snow which delighted the kids-we, being from NE, thought it pretty funny. It was gone by noon, but the locals had a ball while it lasted. We're in for near-hurricane force winds overnight--not looking forward to power outages.
