From MDW, you'll take the Orange Line train into The Loop. Follow the signs through the terminal that say CTA Trains to city. You can purchase 3-day passes from the vending machine at the rail station for $14. They allow unlimited rides on all CTA trains and buses. If you're not staying at least 3 days, you can purchase 1-day passes inside the terminal for $5.75.
The airport is the end of the line, so the train goes in only 1 direction. Take the train to the Randolph stop, it will take about 40 minutes. Exit Randolph and walk north on Wabash 1 block to the Monaco.
If the Monaco is anything like the Monaco in San Francisco (also a Kimpton hotel), it should be a wonderful hotel.
One of my favorites in Chicago!
The Monaco is lovely. I stayed there a few years ago. It's in a perfect location, is beautifully decorated, and the service is great. Just be sure to ask for a room that doesn't face the alley.
thanks, will do!
