Hi,
We have a chance at a timeshare swap for Killington Townhouses in July 2011. Not sure if this would be worth it. We have teenagers, girl 18, boy 15. Would there be enough going on to keep their interest?
Thanks,
tj

Area activities - Chairlift rides, alpine slide, lake beach, Billings Farm, trip to Stowe for Ben and Jerry's factory, Calvin Coolidge homestead, mountain biking, Middlebury College, Burlington and Lake Champlain for day trips, sightseeing drives. July is very quiet there. If your teens want action and people, Killington in July is not for them. Some restaurants are even closed for the summer season. Go to Killington website for summer activities.
If it's 4th of July, both Brandon and Bristol VT have great parades. We tend to do too much driving and exploring but that's fun for us. We discovered a popular swimming hole just outside of Bristol VT. Low enough in one place to walk across the river, small waterfall and deep pool upstream where teens were jumping off ledges. Rocky bottom so water shoes are needed. Apparently there are similar places around VT.
Middlebury is a great college town. Burlington is a large, college town on Lake Champlain with a great downtown shopping area. But, if your teens mountain bike, they could be happy for days. At that age, all I wanted to do was work on my tan and swim. Also look into kayak rentals. I went kayaking with friends last summer on a wonderful river in NH. We had picnic on a secluded beach. Friend decided a half day paddle was plenty for someone not used to paddling. On some rivers there are beach/swimming/picnic destinations where people spend a part of the day.
Check out summer events in the area. We spent a weekend last July at a NH ski area which had lots going on over the weekend. (Rib Fest, music, car show, etc)
Thanks for the replies!
