Classics are the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Also, every area I know has a lot of sports clubs for little kids - often soccer or T ball or whatever. Also a lot of towns have pools the family can join with special programs for little kids.
Boys and Girls Clubs are often focused on filling gaps for kids that are lacking a parent or needy. I would check out the details for any club your child joins.
And have you looked at clubs attached to his school - which seem the most obvious.
The YMCA has children's activities everywhere. My son and his daughters are active in their Indian Princess program for -- you guessed it -- fathers and daughters, with a lot of camping.
You do not have to be Jewish to belong to a Jewish COmmunity Center, at least in Richmond, VA, where we belong.
Boys and Girls Clubs may or may not concentrate on the children of single parents, depending on where you live. It does not in Nantucket.
Robyjohnson, do you live in Texas or are you moving to Texas? Are you a visitor from overseas? (you asked about "kids clubs in US? ). Most of these clubs are really meant for long term connections for local families, though many will have drop in programs. Not sure if a kid would feel awkward just going once or twice. Are you looking for other kids activities like short term programs run by zoos or museums? Sports or athletic programs, cultural, educational? During the summer or vacation time, or all year (if you live or are moving to Texas)? More details would help.
Hi Roby..If you live in Texas then Boys & girls club of central Texas is the right choice. I too am a resident of this area and many of my friends have enrolled their kids in this club. Go ahead!!
