Kiahuna Plantation?

I am planning a honeymoon to Kauai and have reservations at the Kiahuna Plantation on the Poipu side of the island. Has anybody ever stayed there before and have any feedback? Also, any other advice for a romantic/exciting time in Kauai will be appreciated.

We stayed there for one night when the Embassy Vacation Beach Resort(down the street) overbooked. They paid, so I don't know what the cost was. Our condo was 2 floors, 2 bedrroms on the bottom communal area upstairs. A real beach atmosphere although the beach there did not impress me and I did not see the pool. My condo book rates it an 8+ and pool area is supposed to be nice. We also stayed at the Hyatt and my temptation would be to spend half of the time at the Princeville on the north shore or the Hanalei Bay Resort there and Half at the Hyatt or Embassy Vacation Resort beside the Hyatt. Any more questions, feel free to email me.

There is a book called"Best Places to Kiss in Hawaii" for roamntic places, ideas. Have heard the North Shore(Hanalei, Princevillle, etc) has the most stunning scenery. For exciting places, also get thee to a bookstore and check out "Underground Kauai" and "Ultimate Kauai Guide." For romantic places to stay, if you want quietness and privacy , consider bed and breakfast places, many in stunning locations off the beaten track but near all things you will want to see on Kauai.

Amazing! My girlfriend and I stayed at the Kiahuna about 2 years ago. It was like having a 1 bedroom apt to come home to. Having a kitchen gave us an alternative to dining out ($) and was great! Plenty of room to stretch out in. Not the most modern but very clean. maid service did the dishes. I highly recommend it. We went in Jan. and it would be clear and hot during the day and incredible displays of lighting and rain at night. While your there rent mountain bikes, kayak the river, hike the Napali Coast eat, drink, have fun!

Some very close friends of mine are going to Kauai to spend an anniversary celebration. It has been many years since we have been there. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what some great restaurants, golf courses, unique experiences etc are? They are staying at the Hyatt in Poipu Beach.

For my own information, does anyone know if the Waiohi has been rebuilt yet or is it still fenced off and deteriorating. It was at one time the most beautiful hotel on the island.

Thanks.

We just got married on Kauai in November. If you really want to get away from it all, look into Waimea Plantation Cottages. We had about 20 friends and family join us there and everyone raved about the place. You get your own house, on beautiful grounds - definitely ask for a oceanfront house though. It is on the SW side of the island and there isn't much happening over there, but I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
