Has anyone stayed at either of these places in Key West? What was good/bad about each?

I haven't stayed at either in the last 4 years, but the Reach was much newer than the Casa Marina, and I enjoyed their pool area much more. I loved the colors in the rooms. The Reach is much closer to all the Duval Street action and shopping. Casa Marina smelled mildewy when I was there. By the way, I stayed at the Reach after getting it for $65 on Hotwire - so it was especially excellent for that price!

Hmm. Interesting. Stayed twice at the Casa Marina. Only looked at the Reach. To us, the Reach was damp and dark and the Casa Marina was bright and cheery. They are only like 100 yds apart.

The Reach is four blocks away from the Casa Marina. I know because my sister lived halfway between the two of them.

Our room at the Reach was bright yellow and blue. I can't remember the colors at Casa Marina but they were more muted than those at the Reach.

Both the Casa Marina and Reach have recently undergone mass renovations. To get further info about both of them, go to tripadvisor.com.

The Reach has the only natural beach in Key West, if a beach matters much to you.

Both places got awful reviews for a long time during renovation, and the new owners finally closed the Reach for somewhere around a year. In any event, they're both up and running and are apparently doing well now. Check the reviews!
