Key West Spring break 2014
Hi,
I am from Sweden and I would like to go to Key West during the Spring break 2014.
When is it best to go there?
During witch dates is it most students?
Do you know any good pubs or restaurants to go to?
Please let me know.

The term "Spring Break" is usually associated with the time out of class for College and High School students... Key West is far too expensive for students and most properties DO NOT allow groups of students to book rooms...
there will be some students there with parents and from the cruise boats, mostly too young to party...
the main crowd in the bars and restaurants is age 25 and over with lots of money, many couples and retirees... the average age of vacationers is probably 40+...
Key West is not the ideal "Spring Break" destination if you are looking for partying students...
In the US Spring Break destinations include Cancun Mexico, Panama City Florida, South padre Texas, Daytona Florida, and places like Punta Cana, Puerto Vallarta and the bahamas...
Good luck planning...

MansDavid, please allow me to respond, as well. As a 35+ year resident of the SW Florida coast and a former KW Spring Breaker. While Key West is by no means inexpensive, Key West does have a very large contingent of College students that go there every year for spring break. While a number of Inns/B&B's do indeed not rent to the under 25 crowd a great number of them do.
The demographics of Key West are much like ANY tourist destination, in that there are people from all walks of life, ages, family status' and the such.
Unfortunately, for Gary to unceremoniously declare that it is not "an ideal destination", is strictly false. Please keep up your research and look at all angles, talk to others that may have gone there. Look at other message boards, (TripAdvisor has a very active KW board, look in the forums....)
Hope this helps and enjoy your upcoming Spring Break!!!!!

I'd also encourage you to check on tripadvisor. Several of their DEs (destination experts) live in Key West and will be able to give you solid information.

Beachinsights... I love Key West, but you must admit it is quite different from the other spring break destinations I listed... With the drinking age at 21, and most students at 17 -21, Spring break is far different from days gone by... A guest from Sweden looking for swimming pools full of girls and wet T-shirts and beer funnels won't likely find many in key west. in fact, the spring crowd in KW is likely to have that kind of party shut down real fast...
Just trying to give the kid a true picture of what it's really like...
