Key West lodging under $200?
Looking to visit Key West but prefer not to spend too much on the room. Just want something nice and clean. Tennis nearby preferably. Within walking distance to the beach and sights (or on the beach).
Thanks!
Thanks!

When? Through the end of April you may not find anything under $200 because it is peak season.
There really aren't any beaches in Key West aside from Smathers and Ft. Zachary Taylor. Keys beaches are man made.
Also, I can't recall tennis courts???
Anyway, try El Patio and Southernmost Hotel.

Time of year is important....Casa MArina Resort has Tennis Courts, and there is also a city park, Bayview, that has public courts....but the time you're looking to go will determine what you can get for $200/night.

Do yourself a favor and stay at a guest house instead of a hotel you will meet nice people and they are so charming . Go to the key west web site and look around then when narrowed down go to trip advisors and see what other people think. You should have no trouble with that price range for a really nice place with a great pool and often breakfast included. Stay in old town and you can walk or bike anywhere(you can rent bikes all over)

Here's a site that might be something you would like. It was recommended to us by someone who has stayed there and we are going to check it out when we go down again.

Is a nice B&B and sounds like it is in the price range you're looking for. Hope this helps.

There is a Best Western Key Ambassador across from Smathers. It's a hike into town, although they do have the shuttle that runs there. Another option under $200 is the Fairfield Inn, on Roosevelt, again a hike from the action, but clean and reasonably priced. In Old Town, good luck trying to find something in that price range.

Looking for a beach and tennis courts isn't a very promising sign that you'll find the kind of visit you're hoping for in Key West! Since the keys are coral, all the beaches are man-made and most are very small. The best beach in Key West is Ft. Zachary Taylor, but if you plan on swimming there you'll want to wear beach shoes to keep from cutting your feet on the coral. There's a public tennis court on Atlantic Blvd. and another one on Truman Ave. Neither is very conveniently located to places to stay OR to tourist activities. As a general rule, though, you'll find less expensive accommodations on the Atlantic side of the island and that's where the tennis courts and Smathers Beach are. I haven't heard anything recently about the Southernmost Point Guest House, but in the past I've seen good reviews of it and it's very reasonably priced. Check out their website at southernmostpoint.com
