Key West Lodging in Nov

We are heading to Key West in mid-November and having a heckuva time finding a place to stay. We are looking for:
- under $250 a night (a little higher? maybe.)
- Not a big resort
- Quiet - not on the main drag
- Private outdoor area (balcony/deck) would be a plus

I can tell you that the following places are NOT available or our dates (all seemed promising)
- The Gardens
- Pier House
- Ambrosia
- Heron House

I also looked at VRBO.com for rental options and NOTHING is availble. You guys have always come through for me before - please HELP! (thanks)

We also stayed here and loved it but I think they only so weekly rentals. It had a private outdoor area and pool. http://www.vacation-homes-of-key-wes...agecottage.htm

No name has provided some good suggestions, & I'll add Eaton Lodge to the list. We had trouble findong a place over Thanksgiving but we were looking for 5 people (including 2 kids). If your just looking for a couple, keep looking, you'll find something.

Thanks all. There must be something going on Nov 11 (anyone know?), since nearly all of these places are unavailable. I have email requests into Marquesa, Conch House and Eaton Lodge and have my fingers crossed. The rest show no availability when you look online.

It also appears that Poinciana Place Treetop Unit may be available. Anyone have any feedback on this place?

Thanks again.

If it is the boat races, I would still call the places that say they have no availabilty just in case thay are holding rooms back.

Thanks no name. It does appear that the Power Boat Races are overalapping our trip! I will take your advice and call some of the places.

I thought November was going to be an easy time to find a place to stay - never even heard of these races!

There are a lot of people who like either La Mer or the Dewey House at the southern end of Duval. (You probably wouldn't want to be at the Pier House while the races are going or. Not only are there the boats, but chase helicopters, as well. Could you go one week later?

LauraT~ our demented Muffin poster is headed there in November too. Maybe he/she will make a suggestion if he/she is really intending to go.
