Key West, FL

What is the best airlines to use to go to Key West? Also can you get around on a scooter without to rent a car? Thanks!

No "best" airline - just "different" airlines - which might be best for you depends on time of year, where you are originating from and how many connections you are willing to take to reach Key West after leaving your home airport.

Go here for a list of airlines that service Key West: http://www.keywestinternationalairpo...inal_info.html

Yes, you can rent scooters.

Key West is small so you can walk everywhere, or bike or scooter.

Don't know about walking unless you have a lot of time but a bike works well because it is so flat. The only hills you find are the speed bumps. As for airlines, you have little choice.

Eaton bikes will deliver to where you are staying. Be very careful on a scooter.

I'll never again fly Silver Airways given our experience from Fort Lauderdale to Key West and back in February. The lack of communication/knowledge was astonishing.

She took Silver Airways. I don't think Southwest even goes to KW anymore.

What does that mean?

Old Town Key West is certainly walkable! Duval Street is about 1 mile long and I think total square Footage is less than a mile.
I'm old and I walk to everything when I'm there.

Dukey, it means that we were in line for fully 1-1/2 hours without anyone bothering to explain that the flight was delayed and the reason the line was slow was that they were attempting to re-book each person to their final destination (not easy to do, but at least telling us the flight was delayed would have helped).

If you want to scooter/walk, make sure you choose accommodations that are close to the areas you want to be near because many hotels/inns are not walkable.

Your airline choices are American, Delta, and Silver. The "best" airline is probably the one that gets you to Key West fastest and cheapest since there's no airline there that I'd actually call "good".
