Key West during Spring Break?

Would Key West be too crowded during Spring Break? (ours is the week of April 14th).
We are a couple with 2 kids.
Water warm enough to swim?
Any beaches? (I hear they don't actually have beaches....)
Thanks!

Key West will be crowded but you don;t say when YOUR spring break is???
Spring break, for the most part is from MID FEB- to EASTER with different colleges and high schools being out....

YES-water will be warm enough to swim in

BEST BEACH- CASA MARINA hotel

Rest of beaches are small- NOT at all like Miami,FLL or Naples..

Uhh, Andy, did you even bother to read Linda's post? Her family's spring break is the week of April 14.

Uh Andy? Where do you get that Spring Break happens mid Feb?? I like to know what schools. Linda, you can plan on the entire month of March till about Easter but I am told that the heaviest time is the first 2 weeks of MARCH.

It should be warm enough to swim but use weather.com to look at your specific week.

The beaches are ok, some are better than others. We have always liked Fort Zac Tayor beach.

Please do a search. There was a long post about this very topic last week. I believe there were over 20 responses.

The week of April 14th is the week before Easter and Key West will be packed.

Personally, I would not want to be anywhere in Florida the week before Easter. Everything is packed and there is no escaping the hordes of parents and kids.

Linda, We have always had to go to Florida for spring break from washington state to visit the Outlaws and yes it was busy but it was so much fun. If you can stand the prices just go and have fun. I would go to the Keys in a heart beat.

The Keys get the College kids and they usually have their break in March. The highschools and grade schools seem to take their break around Easter and are not too interested in the Keys.....But I wouldn't want to be at Disney at that time.
