We're coming to a see a concert at the Keswick Theater from October 5th to the 8th. At the moment, I'm booked at a Springhill Suites in Plymouth Meeting. Every hotel room in downtown Philadelphia is booked because of a convention and I wondered if there were an interesting inn or B&B somewhere in the vicinity of the Keswick Theater. We have one day to see the sites and eat cheesesteak and one day to shop at the King of Prussia. What would you not miss in Philly and what's the best place for a Canadian to experience the best cheesesteak?

Unfortunately, Glenside is not the best area for B&B's but not is all bad.You will need a car and a little Mapquest help.Try the usual chains for a little closer spot (Willow Grove,Hatboro,Ft. Washington,Warminster, etc). That Monday is a Holiday in the US and a popular time for short vacations.A rental car map will show how to use the PA Turnpike to K of P Mall. The nearby Willow Grove, Jenkintown or Glenside SEPTA train stations provide underrated service to the Market East station in Philly. The downtown streets are easily numbered. You will want to walk south on 9th street thru the Italian Market to the cheesteak originals at 9th& Passyunk Avenues.Consider watching the original "Rocky" movie before leaving for a little local Philly flavor. The Keswick is a monument to that suburban area that I hope you can feel!Lancaster is an easy 1 hour west of K of P.Consider a movie/music weekend in the states by also watching "Witness" followed by a trip to the Amish in Lancsater.
