Hi all,
We live in Columbus Ohio and find ourselves within driving distance of Kentucky, the state parks look very interesting and inviting. However is it a good idea to be visiting the same in winter now in December? Are the caves and Cumberland Falls all open at this time of the year, the websites mention that they are. Also how cold does it get?
Any advice on the above will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Weather there isn't a whole lot different than what you have in Columbus. Also, temperatures can change drastically from one week to the next. Whether it is worth it to you depends on what you like to do. I would probably count on it being cold. This may give you an idea.

We like hiking in the winter, but it isn't for everyone. Have you been to Hocking Hills yet? It is beautiful there when it is snowing and the waterfalls are frozen.
Hi Maj
Thanks so much for your prompt reply. We like trekking/hiking in winter too and of the weather is comparable to here in Columbus, then that is manageable. We sure are hoping the weather will permit a trip and are trying to squeeze in the trip this weekend itself (the thought being the more we postpone the colder it will get).
We haven't been to Hocking Hills in this season yet, last we visited was in end of October. Thanks for the tip we shall surely head there.
