We will be in Kennebunkport for one week in September, part business, part vacation. Hotel is booked. Need any tips on "must sees" in the area. We have been here before so looking for something different from any Pros on Maine.

Ogunquit has Cappricio--an Arts Festival--from 9/5-9/10, which includes the Portland Ballet, Kite Festival, etc. Log on to Ogunquit.org for a "calendar of events".
If you are into antiquing, you will have hit the motherlode...actually saw Barbara and Barbara Bush antiquing a few years ago just outside of Kennebunport...You can also drive to the tip and see the Bush Compound on the Ocean...\
You can also do whale watching and sailing...and kayaking.

Definitely get a LOBSTER ROLL at MCDONALDS!! Cheap and great!
There is also a play at the Ogonquit Playhouse.
I'll second the lobster roll suggestion, though I would recommend The Lobster Pot (near Goose Rocks) in lieu of McD's...eesh. We did have one by the way -- cheap is accurate, great is subjective.
Captain Jefferds website has a nice listing of activities in the area:

If you have time for a few daytrips, you may want to go to Portland proper or to Portsmouth, NH for a different walk around.
Thanks!
If you like seafood, Federal Jack's is awesome food and water views.
By all means eat at The White Barn Inn. Fantastic, expensive (it's a dress up place) but worth. One of the best restaurants ever.
Arundel Wharf Restaurant- great for lunch sitting on wharf on the harbor - beautiful and casual
Laudholm Farm in Wells, and the Rachel Carson state park are worth visiting. Both have websites...
Thanks! I concur on the White Barn Inn. We were there on last trip in 98 and going back this time. Great place!

Spend a day or two in Ogunquit. Walk the Marginal Way. Take a boat cruise. Wander all about Perkins Cove.
We could spend a week in the art galleries in Kennebunkport.
Spend a day in Portland. Visit the museum, the Old Port.
Go to the lobster shack at Two Lights.
Drive to Freeport - visit LLBean!
Spend a day in Portsmouth, NH.
Have dinner and drinks at the Cliff House.
I realize this is an old post, but wanted to post suggestions for a couple new favorite restaurants in the area! Both are definitely more moderate than the White Barn Inn!
We love Bandaloop right in Dock Square. All organic and fresh, with many vegetarian options and funky decor. Excellent Mohitos and wonderful, creative chefs!
A brand new restaurant is Lucas on 9 in Cape Porpoise on the way to Goose Rocks Beach. Cosmopolitans are $5, and a fabulous baked stuffed lobster can be had for $27! Excellent fried seafood, great steaks, and pretty, comfortable atmosphere. A real find!
Enjoy!

I see this is a really old post, but we like Alison's Restaurant in Dock Square. Great Lobster and homemade blueberry pie ala mode.

fisher-marie -- why????
Tis odd that MBnancy posted 35 min. after fisher_marie -- after a three-year pause, after a 6-month pause. Is this a conspiracy of Kennebunkport residents who miss the income from Bush-era tourists?
soccr, I just happened to be posting when I saw fisher-marie's topping. I guessed they were short on words and looking for more information. Not odd at all, I'm a SoCal Gal who just loves visiting Kennebunkport. LOL
