Kauai Addicts: "The Descendants" is a "Must-See"

Jump to last reply

Saw the movie "The Descendants" with George Clooney mostly because I heard it had been filmed on Kauai--and I needed a fix to hold me over until I get back there next month.

The movie was good--although I didn't think it was as good as many of the critics seem to think. But "family drama" isn't really my cup of tea. Actually, most of the movie was set and filmed in Honolulu and I recognized many of those views. But during the section of the film when they went to Kauai, I practically screamed with excitement.

There was my favorite walking path--near Kealia Beach; and the fountain at the entrance to Princeville; and the condo complexes I walk by every day when I'm there; the beach at the St. Regis--where I often walk in the morning; and Tahiti Nui; and glorious Hanalei Bay where I walk most evenings ...

The movie brought back such wonderful memories--and the ticket was a lot cheaper than the plane fare ;-)
