My husband and I are spending a long weekend soon at the Ritz-Carlton in Kansas City. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant in the immediate vicinity? Thanks in advance!

You're staying at the Ritz on "the Plaza" which is a beautiful shopping and eating district. There are many restaurants to choose from and you almost can't go wrong. Depends on how much you want to spend. Plaza III is a very expensive but top notch steak restaurant, Figlio is great Italian, The Cheesecake Factory is not very expensive and has many choices & great cheesecake as you'd expect!, Fedora's is great too - if I remember right, a wide variety of choices. Those are just a few of the many great places to eat on the Plaza. There are many restaurants within walking distance from the Ritz. Enjoy KC. It's a well kept secret!
Just about everything within walking distance of the Ritz will be wonderful... It has been a couple of years since I lived there, but I always liked the restaurant at the Raphael, just across Wornall from the Ritz. Fedora was nice, but trendy; Starkers was good. For steak (wonderful chateaubriand) Plaza III is great, the Bristol was the place for Sunday jazz and a grand brunch. Basically, the Country Club Plaza is a delight, and you could spend a month and not run out of food and shopping.......
Enjoyed the steaks at Houstons in the plaza more then at the historic Golden Ox, or Hennesssy House. For Italian also enjoyed Figlios overlooking Nichols fountain. The widest selection of all cuisines was available at the Cheesecake Factory, had an excellant meal and wonderful chocolate cheesecake, about 30 to select from. Have been in Kansas City in Sept. Oct. Nov. most of the time could still relax and dine outdoors. Have a great trip.
