I will be in Kansas City for business for a few days, staying downtown. What is the #1 thing that I should make time to see or do? Any restaurants that should not be missed?

Dear Biz
Don't stay downtown if you can help it. The Crown Center has two nice hotels and it's not very far from downtown. The Plaza is the best place to stay in K.C. and it is about 6 or 7 miles from downtown. I would say you shouldn't miss Bryant's BarBQ. It is near the downtown area. Any of the hotels will give you directions. Be prepared for bad ambience but great BarBQ. I understand the American restaurant is the best food in town at the Crown Center. I've never eaten there. Very expensive. I like The Plaza III on the plaza.
My favorite place to visit is the Plaza. I also like the Nelson Art Gallery. A interesting place to visit, is the Jazz museum near Bryant's at 18th and Vine. The Negro Baseball Hall of Fame is also in the complex. It, too is very interesting and fun. I hope you enjoy your visit.
