We are going to the Maritimes in June. For our return trip to Michigan we would like to travel from ME across NH, VT, and northern NY. Is it feasible to drive from Bar Harbor to Hanover NH via the Kancamagus Hwy, in one day? The map sites give me a total distance of around 300 miles. We would take Hwy 10 and not the interstate down to Hanover.
We don't want to rush, but we do not do a lot of local sight-seeing, either. It is around 7 hours driving time. We usually plan an approx. 9-10 hour day on the road to allow for lunch, gas and a few stops along the way.
Are there some "Must See" stops on the route?

Totally feasible and an interesting ride.
I am not going to tell you the twists and turns, but if you go to Google map and seek directions, the following string will do it.
Bar Harbor, ME
Poland, ME
Conway, NH,
Lincoln, NH,
Hanover, NH
Well, the highway itself is a major scenic route. A bit south of your main route is Mt Chocorua, and north of it is the Presidential Range of the White Mountains, well worth a detour or as an alternate route if you haven't been there.
Thank you, Ackislander. That is the route I had planned.
Mid June is when wild lupines are blooming. You should see them in Maine. The Franconia NH area has a Lupine Festival

The state of NH has planted some areas along the interstate I93 and I89. Kind of nice to see if you are here at the right time.
