We just returned from Naples, What a wonderful place!! We stayed at the Hotel Escalante. 2 blocks from the beach. We loved the location. Walked to 5th Ave for dinner and shopping everyday. Also could walk to 3rd Ave. where more shopping and wonderful places to eat are. We loved Chops, Pazzo, Yabbas and Campiello(sit in the courtyard area, Very pretty)aslo did the Ritz for lunch by the pool. Enjoyed The village on venetian bay and waterside shops for shopping. We watched to sun set at the Naples Pier. The trolley ride is a nice overview of Naples. Enjoyed it so much.

Betty, thanks for posting about your trip. Glad you had a great time, and after recommending the Escalante to a lot of people, glad to hear back about an actual stay there. I'm also happy you enjoyed four of my favorite restaurants. You left just in time, though, I had to wear a jacket today!!!
Patrick, thanks for your note. Before our trip I enjoying reading all your Naples info. We were walking to the beach one day and I said to my husband I wonder if that was Patrick. I remember you saying you will be in the Oklahoma show and I saw someone that looked like the character you said you will play. Betty
Well, Betty, probably not. Until yesterday I had thick grey hair and a rather newly grown full, but trimmed grey beard. As of yesterday it is now all jet black for the play -- I'm Ali Hakim, the Persian peddlar. Glad I'm not flying anywhere or certainly I'd be racially profiled and stopped dead in my tracks.
