Hello there,
A good friend of mine just moved to Austin and is need of furniture advice. He is a modern guy, what are some good stores out there? Maybe also some popular restaurants, famous food spots you can share? I would really appreciate this![]()
Thanks, Elina

elly,
There are all kinds of recommendations about places to eat in Austin posted at Fodors. Just type "Austin" in the little "Search the Forums" box at the top of the page.
Hope your friend enjoys Austin!
Tell him to check out Simply Austin for furniture. It's a locally owned place that is located in a warehouse on S. Congress. Nothing fancy but the owners are great and they can order anything he wants if he doesn't find it there. Great prices.
The Loft has nice furniture too but it's very expensive. Tell him to check out Copenhagen too for modern furniture.
What part of town does he live in and what's his budget? There are several really nice second hand furniture stores as well. I often wish I'd waited to check some of them out.
