There aren't really any hotels near Nationals Stadium, but it's easily accessible by Metro. You could just choose any hotel near a Metro station and be able to reach Nationals Stadium without a problem. Nats Stadium is on the Green Line, so if you don't want to change lines, find a hotel near a Green Line station. Your best bet for that would be a hotel in Penn Quarter which is near the Gallery Place Metro station (Green Line, Red Line and Yellow Line).

Whoops, I forgot about the Courtyard by Marriott Navy Yard. That's just a few blocks away from Nats Stadium. But there's not much in the area besides that. Penn Quarter has a lot more going for it--stores, restaurants, museums, close to the Mall, etc.

I was at a Nats game last night. Discussed area with my dtr and friend who live in DC area. You do not want to stay near the Stadium. It is not an area that offers anything and although the hopes were that the Stadium would vitalize the immediate area, it has not and remains sketchy. At an event today in DC were talking to a couple who had searched for food or drink after a game until Metro crowds subsided and were not successful.

The area immediately around the stadium has very VASTLY improved but if you didn't live in Washington you probably wouldn't realize it.

That said, there really isn't much in the area other than the stadium in terms of entertainment, etc.
