Connecticut Limo goes to NR as does Prime Time shuttle. About $55 each way. If you are willing to go through Manhattan it's easy to get the NY Airport Bus to Grand Central and then MetroNorth Train.
The true public transport option (airtrain, subway to metroNorth) only works if you are going through Manhattan.
