JFK to jersey (Newport)

Jump to last reply

I'm arriving at JFK (International flight) and my accomodation is at Pavonia/Newport.. (I know.. should have taken EWR but last minute changes..)

Anyways, how do I get to Newport? We (couple)are arriving at 8 in the morning with three big bags.

I gather that one can take a shuttle which drops you at 42nd Street and then we can cab it up to Newport. That would cost us USD 15*2 i.e USD 30 plus a cab fare of USD 30? That would mean a total fare of USD 60.(Is that correct?)

Another option is take a taxi straight to Newport which would cost us, not sure... USD 100?

Are my numbers and information correct?

What option would you suggest considering three bags? Pay the USD 30-40 extra or the shuttle+taxi should be convinient even with so much luggage?

Please help...Totally confused
