JetBlue - meals?

We are traveling on JetBlue for the first time SFO-JFK-SFO. I can't find anything on their website about meals.
Now that the news says they are charging $7 for a pillow, I assume we are out of luck for meals?! It would be nice to know ahead of time.

I didn't think anyone served meals anymore on domestic flights in coach on any airlines. I bring my own meal or purchase a wrap or something similar at the airport after security.

The meals for purchase on the plane aren't very appealing to me!

When we fly Jet Blue, it's a drink and a snack, period. Maybe it's different for cross-country flights but I'm doubting it!

No meals on JetBlue and I think all the airlines will be charging for everything extra very soon. ALL the airlines are in trouble and we aren't helping much by demanding cheap airfare. The costs of EVERYTING are going up across the board, especially fuel so the airlines are posting major LOSSES not profit.

There are places past security where you can pick up sandwiches, drinks and snacks.

Nope, no meals. We just flew JetBlue cross country (LGB-BOS-LGB). Definitely eat before you leave and also grab a sandwich or something at the airport (or Whole Foods, etc.) to take with you. Even though it was only supposed to be a 5 hour flight, we encountered several delays, and there was nothing open when we arrived in BOS at 1 am. Those Bristol Farms baguette sandwiches that I packed saved us from gas station/7-11 hot dogs or hotel vending machine food.

I should emphasize that there are no meals available, even to purchase, as there are on other airlines. They'll give you a choice of snack (nuts, cookies, granola) and drinks.

Not true. CO still serves meals at meal time - and still no charge! Certainly nothing gourmet but very decent. (at least for now).

Just to clarify, JetBlue has never served meals, so there's been no change in that regard. Nor have you ever been able to buy them on board.

For $7, you might just consider eating the blanket and pillow. It might be as tasty as the usual airline food.

We've taken a lot of Southwest flights cross country thanks to a lot of free ticket rewards and at least Southwest warns you ahead of time to not expect food but then they actually give you snack packs and are around a lot offering beverages. It's okay taking sandwiches through security right, just no liquids? Thanks for the heads up.

JetBlue does warn you ahead of time - it's in the help section of their website (see link below).

Yes, you can take sandwiches through security....just no liquids. I would think "no liquids" would also include condiment packages since mustards, salad dressings, etc are liquid, but you can confirm with FAA. For coast-to-coast flights I usually take a meal and then an extra thing like an apple or a Luna bar just in case of a delay.

Sandwiches are fine, as are the small packets of mustard/mayo. In major airports, Wolfgang Puck Cafe and California Pizza Kitchen have decent panini-style sandwiches to go, and Starbucks has some prepackaged stuff that is pretty good. If you are taking a redeye, be aware that in most airports these places close by 10 or 11 pm.

I've found that most airports have these sandwich shops, etc. AFTER you go through security, so you don't need to worry about liquids and can even pick up a water or soft drink to take on the plane.

Love Hawaiian (Free Meals and Free Movies, Friendliest Service!) & I like Jetblue (Free personal Movie Screen on front seat!) Unlike other airlines which now Charges for Food with NO Movies!
Seems like all airlines charge for blankets and pillows and checked bags so everyone does 2 large carry-ons instead of just one (Includes Huge Guitar cases) so Overheads runs out of space! (which delays flights as attendents scramble to find room somewhere usually in the back of the plane).

I have not seen a free meal in coach for years - and would not even consider buying anything they sell. If stuck in cattle car I bring on a sandwich and a water (I hate those tiny little cups).

What I like about JetBlue is you can buy early boarding - and so avoid all of those people cheating with giant multiple bags. I stick to a small carry-on and a briefcase/purse in one. And think the FAs should be stricter about what they allow people to bring on board.

But NeoPatrick's comment about eating the pillow and blanket is so funny!

Esp. since now there are NO pillows or blankets available!

I am glad this got resurrected, it made me laugh out loud and I am awake at 4:42 a.m. wrapping Christmas presents so I needed the laugh.

Had a very tasty Hamburger with cheese (just warmed) - on an Alaskan flight for $6. It was from SD to Cabo - so not sure on what flights they offer the good burger and also - a couple of other good choices for around that price.

Otherwise - just pack a sandwich - or some cheese sticks, pretzels, etc - and buy a bottle of water when you get inside security - or carry an empty bottle and fill it up at the drinking fountain. No problemo.

Airlines this past year made literally BILLIONS in revenue from seat and baggage charges not to mention the cost of those "snack" boxes.

They are hardly "in trouble" like they once were.
