Jet Blue????

Just curious what the reaction has been to Jet Blue. I'm thinking of booking round trip from Ft. Myers to New York. I'm not crazy about the JFK over LGA location, but that's pretty minor. I have to book way ahead to secure a $175 round trip fee, but that's awfully good for September/October for a nonstop, and their schedules are great. And I love the idea that you can change your ticket for just $25 if it becomes necessary. So how are the planes and flights?

HI Parick(fellow Floridian, how are you? We flew JetBlue from Dulles to Oakland, and we loved it. My husband thought it was one of the his best C-county trips. Loce the the live TV and their leather seats are pretty comfy. It is a very good airline IMO. Judy

We flew Jet Blue r/t from Ft. Lauderdale to New York. We LOVE this airline. The flight crew was great and as Judy stated the personal tv's and the leather seats are a nice bonus. We are planning another trip to New York this summer and plan to fly them again.

We too have flown New York, Fort Lauderdale routes and have never had a problem. I really like them.

I agree with the above posters. My family loves Jet Blue & would choose it over any other airline when possible. Seats are larger than on other airlines & the TV's are great. On a recent trip on USAIR, I had to explain to my son why there were no TV's (not any easy thing to do).

Another vote for JetBlue. As mentioned above, the seats and TVs alone make it worthwhile. The employees also seemed much friendlier and dedicated, compared to other airlines.

yet another vote for JetBlue. WE've been flying them since they started up, and they are great. They are friendly, efficient, helpful, VERY ON TIME, and our favorite airline. Wish they flew more places.

Patrick, one very interesting side about Jetblue: right befor landing, they announced some facts about DC, than asked for us to help clean up our spaces, saying that the quicker they can "turn around" the airplane the more money they save and the more WE SAVE.....needless to say, we all were busy cleaning up our spaces! LOVE those blue potato chips they serve! Judy

Ditto on the above. One thing, they have segment based FF program like SWA so you lose out on coast to coast trips, but make out better on short hauls. What's great too, is they have segment based pricing so you can fly JFK to Vegas, drive to L.A., and then fly L.A. to JFK for even less than a round trip to Vegas because the segment from LAX - JFK is cheaper than LAS-JFK and there is no penalty for not getting a round trip with a single destination.

So, looking at all the prices which start low and work their way up in price as time goes by, it looks like I should go ahead and book the northbound Ft. Myers to JFK for mid
September while it is still $69. I can't book our return in October yet, because they only go to September, but guess I can do that whenever they add those dates, since one way is the same price as half of round trip.

We LOVE Jet Blue, and have flown several times between FL and NYC. The last trip my invalid Mother moved to NYC to live with us and the airline was wonderful helping me get her on the plane and off and the wheelchair was right there as we deplaned.

IF I had a choice between a major carrier and Jet Blue, I would choose Jet Blue all the time, but it does not fly to all locations yet, bet they are trying to increase their destinations.

Wow, what an unusual thread. All these opinions and not one bad thing to say? Is this really possible?

I haven't flown them yet, but plan to use them between NYC and Buffalo in May.

Check out the below link for more reviews.

I don't think I have every come across an airline with NO negative feedback at all - I find it almost scarey

Our most frequent flight with Jet Blue has been the JFK to Buffalo trip, and their record for being on-time, on countless flights is amazing. My daughter has been flying to and from college [and now grad. school] since they started up, and we've used them for the same trip, for the same reason. Because they were so good, I now try to plan trips around where they do fly. We had a great trip with them to Puerto Rico last Nov. It IS AMAZING, how many people are really happy with them!

Sorry to interrupt this stream of gushing praise, but here comes complaint number one.

Let me first preface my statment by saying that, generally speaking, I find Jet Blue to be an excellent airline. Right on price, easy to book and change seats, really like the electronic check-in kiosks that SWA is now only just beginning to implement in some of their destinations.

That being said, the statement that their seats are larger than normal is just not true. They are leather, and new, but narrow and seatback pitch is too restrictive for an attempt at sleep, in my opinion. Perhaps they are large enough for the cheese-eating weasels at Airbus, but not for me.

Don't let this one beef besmirch your enthusiasm for this airline, they run a sound operation, but don't get aboard expecting that a cattle herd-airfare will get you anything more than a cattle-herd seating arrangement.
