Jekyll Island or Amelia Island?
I am planning an Anniversary getaway in April and trying to decide where to stay. The Beachcomber Inn on Jekyll Island or another resort in Amelia Island . As a middle class couple, I don't know if we would feel uncomfortable in that environment. Please help.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that you -as a middle class couple - might not feel comfortable at Amelia Island? Because you think the people on Amelia are rich snobs?
If that's what you're asking - don't worry. Amelia Island isn't a rich enclave like Palm Beach. They do have a Ritz there, but I dare to say most people who stay there are middle class (which is a pretty broad category nowadays).

Hello. We love Jekyll Island and highly recommend it. However, early April brings gnats from the neighboring marshes and they have a nasty habit of having YOU for dinner. If you are planning a late April trip you should be ok. If you are going just for the beach then I would have to say that Amelia Island is better. To me Jekyll does have more of a variety of activities since you are close to Sea Island and Brunswick. I think the sand and water at Amelia are better but I love the atmosphere of Jekyll. It's a hard call.
