Jeep tour in Sedona

My family will be in Arizona from Dec. 20 to 31. We will be in Sedona for the first two days. How far in advance should we make reservations for a jeep tour since it will be a week-end and during holiday travel time?

DOn't know about that time of year, but during March Spring break, we just walked right in and got a reservation on the next tour out (Pink Jeep - Broken Arrow). If the kids like bumps, have them sit in the back of the jeep.

Hi Suzie, we did "A Day in the West" combo tour. We were there 3 weeks ago, and I know you could walk right in and get a tour. Judy

We were in Sedona September 15-16 and took the infamous Pink Jeep Tours. I had been advised to call approx. 2 weeks in advance - but considering you will be there on a week-end and during holidays you might want to call them yourself to re-confirm that. We took 2 tours: The Diamond Back Gulch Tour in the morning and later that afternoon The Broken Arrow Tour. Both were fabulous and were the highlights of our stay in Sedona - my father is still talking about it...and he used to be in the Rodeo! The drivers are extremely knowledgable, gregarious and trust-worthy...it was worth every penny. Hope this answers your question.

kansas59, if you could only have done one of those tours, which would it have been?

If you like archaeology and want some introduction to the Native American history of the scene, go with Sedona Red Rock Jeep Tours instead of Pink Jeep Tours. They have the only permission from forest service to go to some cliff dwellings on National Forest land. Check www.sedonachamber.com to contact the Chamber of Commerce and is you have time ask them to send info.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think we are looking more for scenery and excitement than the archeology of the area for this activity.

We did Pink Jeep Tours Broken Arrow tour last January and it did not disappoint. Their literature pretty much states that it's their best tour (or at least the most popular).
