Jeannie Wiley State Park
Good Morning Everyone!
My Family reunion will be at JCW park this Labor Day weekend, and I would Love if anyone could give me some info on this Park and the surrounding area. My Sister has rented a cabin on the grounds, however I'd like to get a Hotel room because I'll be traveling with my 18 month old grandbaby and Daughter and we'd be more comfortable in a Hotel.
So Please any info on the park and surrounding area would be Awesome.
Thanks Theresa in Detroit.

Jenny Wiley State park is in Prestonsburg...very far eastern Ky in a gorgeous area. It's a true nature lover's area- hiking, boating, campgrounds, swimming, etc plus they have a theatre. The only hotels in Prestonburg are the Microtel, Comfort Suites, Best Western. If you don't want to stay in a cottage (and they are pretty small) why not book a room or two at the Lodge? They are nice rooms, reasonable, and they usually have good dinner buffets (very family friendly) Book as early as possible; the State parks are quite popular and will be booked way ahead of time.

Linda Thanks so much for that info. I just called to ask some ? and made reservations online. It looks like that will work out perfect. I did book the Comfort inn as a back up. In my Family Plan b is a good idea.
Thanks again. If possible any restaurants in that area you can recommend. I'd appreciate it.

From a KY girl....the spelling is Jenny Wiley- a fromer captive of the injuns
The other is Jeannie C. Riley and that is "hypocrites" lol.
The song was written by a Ky boy...Tom T. Hall from Olive Hill Ky. One day in 1986, Mr Hall was drinking in a venue where I was playing piano and singing. After an hour, I invited him to come up and sing a song. He was most gracious and humble and a few sheets to the wind. But I remember him fondly!
