I have never been to Alabama. My daughter and I want to spend some time near a beach the first week January. We have researched San Diego and South Padre Island. She saw an ad about Alabama and wondered would it be a do-able thing that time of year? We like quieter areas and are open to any ideas. We love lots of walking.
Thanks ahead of time,

It will be chilly that time of year.
Even some parts of Florida are chilly.
South Florida or somewhere in the Carribbean would be good options.
You can walk the beach, but it won't be lying-out-on-a-beach-towel kind of weather. If you are looking for warmth, head to FL and the further south the better (preferably Sarasota and further south.)
They're right! Lots of 'snowbirds' come down to Gulf Shores in Winter, but it's cold water and sometimes cold weather - no snow, just too cold to enjoy the beach much.
Thanks everyone. I had a feeling that you'd all say go south or souther, lol.
