Jackson Hole or Grand Teton

Where would you stay? Jackson Hole and drive to Grand Teton or Grand Teton Jenny Lake. Will be there 4 days before moving on to Yellowstone

If you can get into the Jenny Lake Lodge, do it, a wonderful place. Jackson and Jackson Hole are busy places, if you want beauty and peacefullness, stay at Jenny Lake.

I see Jenny Lake lists both the lodge and cabins. Called for info, and of course they are closed until Monday.

Steve, you are recommending the lodge.
Why that over the cottage?

I would stay at Signal Mountain Lodge in heartbeat. It is in the Grand Teton Park but is the only one NOT run by the park sevice. The cabins/condos(there are about 80 units and about 35 log cabins) right at the water's edge(we had the top floor with bedroom ,bath, sitting area and pullout sofa and kitchenette with a view that is like a postcard from every room),you can rent any type of boats with the Tetons backdrop and there is a private campground on the other side of the lodge for great walks with the smell of the campfires.Signal Mountain has a long history(former fishing camp for the wealthy, etc.back in the 20/30's)which is preserved in some wonderful pics in the lodge-bar, 2 restaurants and a gift shop. You can drive down to Jenny Lake(less than 10 minutes, drive into Jackson(about 35 minutes) or go up to the main lodge(Jackson Lake, which is full of conventions, etc.) at the top of the park. This place is a well-kept secret and is usually booked up months/years ahead(we lucked out with a cancellation). We loved this place as it was so central to everything and the view and area was truly the Tetons at their best. Have fun!

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the website for the Signal Mountain Lodge. They list several options from lakeside rooms, log cabins, and country rooms. What were you staying in, and which do your recommend having been there. - It's just my husband and myself
