Italian in Boston

Please help me locate a great Italian restaurant in Boston. Price is no object but casual (chinos/jeans) would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm with bigdog50.....just head to the northend late afternoon and wander into something....we've enjoyed Leconte for antipasta and veal picatta and Giacomos for great seafood and pasta and fried mozzarella, Daily Catch for fried calamari and squid ink pasta, all casual, but calling ahead or showing up early for Prezza or Sage, you should not go wrong. Happy hunting

Most restaurants make wandering easy by posting menus in windows - even in nicer places.

I have to, yet again, recommend Giacomo's on Hanover St, the heart of the North end. Great food. Cozy atmosphere. (no credit cards, cash only). Get there early, the line starts at 5:30 on a Friday and Saturday night...

Agree it's difficult to find bad Italian in the North end. Here's a second for the Daily Catch, especially for the squid ink pasta. It's a fairly tiny place and anything more than chinos risks seeming pretentious. If you want ambience, go elsewhere - here it's all about the food. After dinner, amble down the street to indulge in some pastry - some of the best cannoli ever - at one of the coffee chop/bakeries.

Everyone has their favorite place in hte North End. Mine is Mauritzio's on Hanover St. It's tiny, and a little more pricier than some, but the food is very good indeed.
