Is VENICE really a good place to live?
The Venice, the world's only pedestrian city, is easily walkable, and the absence of cars makes this a particularly pleasant experience. However, walking and standing all day can also be exhausting, how do you feel, is it the better place to live in?

First of all if you live IN Venice, you'd have to love being totally crowded by tons of tourists night and day. I'd see this as the biggest issue.
But it's a simple adaptation. Instead of hopping in a car to drive somewhere a little far to walk, you can take a boat. Just like people in NYC take a subway or a taxi. There are still alternatives to walking -- it's called public transportation.

OK - I'm a bit confused . . . Neither Venice Beach CA or Venice FL are totally pedestrian/car free.
I'm pretty sure our OP is asking about Venice Italy (and she mentions it on her profile.
Crif: If you are asking something about Venice Italy - you should post it on the Europe forum.

Well if you're talking about Venice Italy, I'm jealous. I want to live there. And I've been there at it's touristy worst! But I avoid the tourist areas by day. Most of Venice is quiet as can be. Sigh....
